Free webinar: lease extensions (8 September 2026)

The Leasehold Advisory Service (LEASE) is continuing its series of free webinars for leaseholders, covering key leasehold topics and giving leaseholders the chance to put questions to our senior legal advisers.

The second webinar in the series will focus on extending the lease of a flat.

Extending your lease can protect the value of your property and make it easier to sell or remortgage. However, the process can be complicated, and it’s important to understand your options, the likely costs and the legal steps involved before you begin.

This webinar will cover the main issues to consider when extending your lease. These include the different routes available, when to start thinking about an extension, how the price may be calculated and what professional help you may need.

The session will also explain the formal legal process, including the notices, responses and deadlines that may apply, as well as considering what the leasehold reforms may mean for leaseholders deciding whether to extend now or wait.

The session will begin with an overview of the topic, followed by a Q&A. Most of the webinar will be dedicated to answering leaseholders’ questions.

You will be able to submit a question when you register. There will also be an opportunity to ask live questions during the webinar about anything covered in the session.
