Lease extension calculator updated

January 2019

The Lease extension calculator is just one of the tools we provide to help leaseholders navigate through the complexities of residential leasehold. The calculator is reviewed annually and amended when valuation principles change. It was last updated in January 2017. The calculator provides an estimated range of the cost for an extension of a flat in London and elsewhere. In the past 12 months, it has been visited 200,673 times.

Interim Chair Wanda Goldwag said, “It’s very important to us at LEASE to help leaseholders to have informed discussions with their professional valuer when they start the lease extension process and we hope that by providing this tool we can assist lay people in what is a very complex area.”

LEASE is governed by a board, appointed as individuals by the Secretary of State for the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government.
