Free training launched to help high-rise building Resident Directors understand their safety duties

30 July 2025

We have launched a new online training course to help those responsible for managing high-rise residential buildings understand their legal duties under the Building Safety Act 2022, in partnership with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR).

Access the free training here.

The free eLearning programme is aimed at volunteer directors of Right to Manage (RTM) and Resident Management Companies (RMCs) in England. It uses clear language and practical examples to explain the responsibilities introduced after the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

The training is split into four 30-minute modules covering key topics:

Ella Norman, Senior Legal Advisor at LEASE, said:

“Many leaseholders volunteer to help manage their buildings without formal training but now face significant legal responsibilities. This course gives them the knowledge and confidence to meet their duties and keep their buildings safe.”

The programme is also relevant for freeholders, managing agents, housing associations, local authorities, professional Building Safety Managers, and leaseholders who want to understand how safety measures are managed and charged for.

LEASE is governed by a board, appointed as individuals by the Secretary of State for the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government.
