LEASE is governed by a board, appointed as individuals by the Secretary of State for the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government. The Board’s role is to provide leadership and strategic direction and supervise the overall management of LEASE activities.
Board members abide by the Nolan values of public office and have agreed to a code of conduct.

Present Board Membership is as follows:
Wanda is interim Chair of LEASE.
She has a portfolio of non-executive roles and has held a number of public appointments. She is a lay member of the Queen’s Counsels appointments panel, Chair at the Legal Ombudsman, and a non-executive director of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, amongst others.
Victoria Elvidge trained as a city solicitor and worked in the commercial property department at Ashurst until 1996. She was a Chair on the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal for ten years, dealing principally with management and enfranchisement cases. Victoria went on to be Vice-Chair of the main board at Sanctuary Housing until 2011. Since 1999, Victoria has sat as a magistrate on the Gloucestershire bench.
Steven Jackson has been a Board Member since September 2013, and the Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee from 22 January 2015, during which time he has overseen the appointment of new External and Internal Auditors, and significant improvements in risk management and compliance. Before retiring in 2011, Steven was the Chief Executive of a NW housing association after being promoted from the position of Housing Director. He is a Board Member/Trustee of Manchester Care&Repair, a registered charity which improves the homes and lives of older and disabled people across Greater Manchester and he has worked on a pro bono basis with two housing association tenant scrutiny groups, providing them with independent support and professional guidance.
Tariq Kazi is a professionally qualified chartered accountant and corporate treasurer with financing and housing experience spanning the private and public sectors. Tariq is currently a board member of Stonewater Housing Group, advisor to the Treasury Committee of Bromford Housing Group and he provides financing, risk management and governance consultancy support to other social housing providers. Tariq is a former banker with experience of working with the Regulator of Social Housing and in the past he has been a Magistrate and a trustee of two charities.
