Buildings Insurance Survey – 3,000 leaseholders have shared their views: Have You?

18 September 2024

The LEASE building insurance survey launched at the end of August. Click here to enter the survey.

Over 3,000 leaseholders have participated in the survey. This is a fantastic result, but we need more.

Why Your Input Matters

We are reaching out because we want to understand how insurance premiums have changed since 2016, particularly following the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower in 2017. This survey will help us collect valuable data on how premiums have shifted for leaseholders in blocks of flats (multi-occupancy buildings).

There have been several changes in the building insurance market in recent years, and your contribution will help us assess how these changes have harmed consumers. Our goal is to use the survey results to push for better availability and affordability of insurance in the future.

Your voice is crucial in helping us inform the government about the problems you face with buildings insurance.

Deadline 27 September

If you haven’t yet participated, there’s still time. Every response helps build a stronger case for ensuring fairer building insurance for leaseholders.

For Managing agents and Social Landlords

A spreadsheet version of the survey will be sent out in the week commencing 23 September, to input details on multiple sites. We will continue to collect data from you after the deadline for consumers ends.

Help Us Represent Your Interests

The survey has been created with the help of the cladding groups via EOCS a number of managing agents and TPI with input from government officials. The information you provide is essential in helping us represent your interests to the Government. By sharing your experience, you can help us advocate for improvements in the building insurance market.

As well as passing the results to the government we hope they will be published in the national press.

Please note we will not share your details or your site-specific details with anyone outside of LEASE. We will only share anonymised versions of the data with third parties including the government.
