Can any extra cleaning or maintenance costs of the building be included in the service charge?

Whether these costs will be recoverable from you as a service charge will depend on, first, the wording of your lease; and, second, whether the costs are reasonable. You should ask for full disclosure and a breakdown from your landlord of any additional charges incurred during this period.
