LEASE Chair Roger Southam – June 2016

June 2016

This issue of our newsletter heralds a new website for LEASE of which we are greatly proud. It is far more searchable and we believe it will give you greater access to the wealth of information located there. The team have worked very hard putting it together although it is always possible there are still some missing links or glitches. If you find any please let us know and we can fix them. We are there to provide the information and want to do all we can to make sure the web service is fully working.

We hold stakeholder forums on a six monthly basis and our most recent one was at the start of June. We use this platform to review what we have been doing with leasehold and Park Homes and outline upcoming plans. Going forward we feel it may be a good idea to circulate the review widely and we will certainly share more through the newsletter.

A number of new initiatives are underway and more coming forward. We are redesigning the phone service to give a better and more efficient delivery that will mean we can cut your wait on the line for advice. This is a natural follow on from the work to the website which we expect will facilitate your needs more easily.

The organisation is on a journey and the board are immensely proud of the team who are all incredibly dedicated and capable. Their impartiality and knowledge is widely admired.   All of the initiatives will be reviewed and monitored to make sure that the desired impact is being achieved. If we find that we are not enhancing and achieving objectives, then adaptation will be made. Feedback is important and we would thank you for the time you can give to surveys and feedback.

The results of the National Leasehold Survey are now out. The survey was sponsored by Brady’s Solicitors and the results have thrown up some interesting points. We will certainly be following up on the education aspects and working to make sure that we build on our guides, conference, and outreach programme.

We have always been serving the whole country although it may be perceived that we are very London centric.   We are working to make sure that we are truly covering across the country and we will be looking at a regional conference as a symbol of this commitment.

More will follow on this and other initiatives will be in subsequent issues of our newsletter.

LEASE is governed by a board, appointed as individuals by the Secretary of State for the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities.
