It doesn’t seem like two minutes since I was taking post as Chairman and already six months have flown by. So much has happened in those six months, including a change from a Coalition to Conservative government and two parties starting leadership changes. There would have been three but somehow Nigel Farage resigned and then came back again!
As I write this Sir Christopher Lee and Ron Moody have both died. As sad as it is, to lose Dracula and Fagin on the same day seems strangely apposite! Certainly I am sure there are those who would draw comparisons with residential property management but I wouldn’t possibly comment.
Leasehold Advisory Service continues to evolve and the first six months have been very busy. We have had a Strategy Day and started to seek improvements to our services to deliver the best possible service. Inevitably this means that changes will occur but the team at the Leasehold Advisory Service are committed to ensuring the quality and values built up over the last 21 years are enhanced and built upon.
We have embarked on an upgrade and wholesale changes to the website which will hopefully deliver clearer and easier to access information. We are looking at web chat being introduced and developing the “YouTube” channel, adding short videos to explain simply and easily elements of leasehold property.
The challenge is communicating everything in easy to digest bite sized chunks that cater for the technicalities and complexities of landlord and tenant law and leases. A few months ago we introduced a quiz Understanding your lease as one way for people to learn what they don’t know about leasehold.
There have been volumes and volumes written on the subject and the fact that the Tribunal is as busy as ever means there is a need for information and help as much as ever.
We have a fabulous team of people who are highly regarded in the market place and respected amongst the industry. The board are incredibly proud of what they do day in and day out. If you have used our service thank you and if you haven’t then we are there when you find you need us.
We are acutely aware of the time you can hold on the phone for one of our team and it is at the front of our minds to keep trying to shorten waiting times. One thing you could try is searching the website as there is a wealth of information on it. Whilst it may not be the easiest always to find exactly what you want it may be quicker than holding. You can always use the online enquiry form also which will get you a response to your email account.
If the last six months is anything to go by we will rapidly be at Christmas, but not before we have sought to improve and enhance what we do.
