Government releases response to Rugg review on the private rented sector and Law Commission reports
The government has released its response to “The Private Rented Sector: its contribution and potential” the independent review of the private rented sector it commissioned. The paper also responds to the Law Commissions reports “Renting Homes” and “Housing: Encouraging Responsible Letting”. A notable item for residential long leasehold property is the proposal that managing agents come under the aegis of an independent regulatory body. Closing date for submissions is 7th August.
